I’m too little, too late
I’m too tall, too often
I’m too wishful, too much
I’m too tired, too daily
I’m too sharp, too sporadically
I’m too wrong, too regularly
I’m too confident, too sparsely
I’m too broken to repair
Maybe I’m a grain of sand, because we’re all the same
Maybe I’m a cloud that lingers, because I’ve nowhere to go
Maybe I’m a star that burns, because that’s what stars do
Maybe I’m a single drop of rain, because I have a long way to fall
Maybe I’m an earthquake, because I unsettle those around me
Maybe I’m adequate, because my lungs inhale and exhale
Maybe I’m enough, enough of the time
Maybe I can be just right, just once
[The spark of inspiration for this came from the title, a quote by Shepherd Book, played by Ron Glass, on the sci-fi western show, Firefly]

Thank you! Me too, as I’ve been practicing writing more and more, I find I am more open to external sources that have the ability to spark something within from without, and give me a starting point to work off of. It is a fun process.
