At the Station

From station to station

In moving things we sink our roots

It’s our culture, it’s our nation

I think our whole society is in cahoots

We live in the well-known hamster wheel

Why is it that you feel like you feel?

Perpetual motion, perpetual motion

Our estate is like the waves of the ocean

So pump, pump, pump your brakes

Please just slow yourself down

Consider your successes, evaluate your mistakes,

Look. Observe. And see what is around

Distractions mercilessly run us over

Busyness tramples us to death

Find a hiding place. Take some cover

Stop. Feel. And listen to your own breath

I miss that suitcase…that I kept closed with duct tape.
