I married once, a puffy cloud

With softest skin and well-endowed

She evaporated before my eyes

Made up, makeup, always fooled by disguise

I found a tree that sparkled twice

To me, it promised, to be nice

But so it proved, in the end

Its promises were all pretend

I dreamed three dreams and swallowed them whole

Then lost my head in the proverbial fish bowl

Chasing that which I did eat

But they, lost in my belly; I tasted only defeat

Four times I touched the corners’ globe

And heard a whisper above my lobe

“If you know, what it is you seek

Then follow me, and have a peek”

Five times five times I had guessed

What truth would bring me rest

But oh so silly I, for each and every time

My entries all the same. I’m a broken record rhyme

I’d like to order six, please Miss

Uh, yes. Both of the hug and the kiss

Not available? You’ve just run out?

Hmm. Perhaps tis true, but I have my doubt

Completion I suppose, it must be seven

A narrow path this side of heaven

Two steps forward, and one step back

A heart can see stars, even when under attack
